Peppermint Green

One of my favorite colors in the whole world is peppermint green. There is something so absolutely soothing about it that kind of makes you feel you like you have just dived into a fresh pool of water.

I have  kept some rolls of vintage ribbon as my own  personal collection and most of them are peppermint green...

Every so often I wrap a gift for someone close to my heart and will pull out some odds and ends from my own personal stash .. like this for a very special friend of mine..

Sometimes I hope the gift as as loved as the wrapping it comes in!!

A doodle a day..

My partner Warren from our sister company TJOMIES STATIONERY has just started his own blog that is attached to the  Tjomie website.

The blog is called A DOODLE A DAY. Warren, has challenged himself to come up with a different doodle a day. Looking at his doodles so far I believe that he can most definitely stand up to this challenge ...

The Chantilly Scrapbooking Show

Well, I had promised to show pictures of the scrapbooking show we did last weekend and so here I am. (A few days late.. but better later than never.)

Here are the two Tjomies (friends) Warren and yours truly  in our booth at the show.

 

Our booth took us a while as unlike the New York Stationery Show we had a lot of stock we had made up to sell as it was a cash and carry show. So, besides color coordinating everything we had to punch holes into each and every packet to hang them all... I think Warren still has the blisters to prove it!

 

 

 

 

Once we had hung everything and took a step back we really like the way it all came together.

 

Not only did we sell scrapbooking kits but plenty of our Tjomies vintage inspired greeting cards too.

 

And, of course as always we has our vintage ribbon rolls and bell jars filled with vintage goodies as display to add to the vintage theme.

Thanks to all of those that stopped by to say "hi" and who appreciated the vintage style of scrapbooking items we have produced. Warren and I had a serious good laugh as well as lots of good fun with all the customers who came into our booth.... look foward to seeing you all at the next show.

Scrapbooking show

Well, I am off the the Chantilly Scrapbooking show to set up our booth.

The show is from June 26th to June 27th. For all you scrapbooking friends out there if you are in the area do come and introduce yourselves to us at TJOMIES. I will be back with loads of pictures next week so check in with me then xxx

Vintage Rose inspired tags

To add to our collection of tags we ( Tjomies) have come up with many gift tags that are all vintage inpired. Like the polka dot tags, here are another range  that are taken from Vintage European Jaquard trim.

 

 

I absolutely adore roses on most fabrics so just could not resist using this particular trim as inpiration.

 

Just love the way the tags came out.. we did  them in three different tones to match the different color schemes of the jaquard..

 

 

 

We also made  some scrapbooking borders to add to the Vintage Jaquard Rose collection ..love the way they came out too.

 

 

How stunning would these look on a scrapbooking page??

Polka Dots

I am just simply dotty for anything with  polka dots. In our collection of tags that we are making for our stationery company TJOMIES we have now completed a selection of polka dot themed tags and cut outs... just simply love em!! Take a look...

 

Some vintage French and Swiss 1940's ribbon that got us inspired...

 

Oh so dotty cut outs... and then there were those with buttons...

 

 

 

 

I personally could not think of anything sweeter than embellishing a scrap page with one of these button flowers - could you??

 

Now if that wasn't enough to feed your polka dot craving check the tags out ....

 

 

 

This is one color scheme I love - the baby yellow with lime green.

Paisley and buttons

There are two things I love in this world ( amongst other things of course) and those are paisley and polka dots.

Warren my partner from our stationery line TJOMIES hand doodles these paisley backgrounds.. dont you just love em?  

 

I think they are bloody fantastic myself.. they are available in a few colors.. 

  

We have made some wonderful scrapbooking embellishments using the paisley that we are going to launch at the Chantilly Scrapbooking Show next month.

 

 

We have paired the paper flowers with vintage mother of pearl and celluloid buttons

 

 

What I love from this collection too are our gift tags - 

 

With the amazing vintage button collection we have been able to match up all shades of our paisley prints with fantastic carved buttons making them all that more special.. so this is what the tag is going to look like -

Setting up our booth at The New York Stationery Show

As I had mentioned in my last blog I was on my way to the Stationery Show in New York. It is the second year we have been at the show as a exhibitor.

I must say the booths at the show are unbelievable and the imagination that has been put into some of them blows me away. This year we decided to keep our booth very pastel orientated with very calming colors. We chose beige with a very light peppermint green.

This was Warren ( my Tjomies partner putting things together for the boards we were displaying the stationery lines on)

I love vintage buttons

I love vintage buttons as do so many other millions of people out there. After having the shop for nearly two years now I am still amazed at how many people there are who collect buttons and how many still have a jar of buttons left by a grandmother that they cherish.

As part of my scrapbooking kits I have decided to make buttons packs of vintage buttons.

 

I have color coordinated them together and so for all the indecisive button buyers it makes it easier by color.. take a look..

 

I really love the designs and carvings on these casein buttons and the little glass flowers I love and use them in a lot of my work.

The little boots in this picture are glass and one of my favorite. By the way most of the buttons used in the packs can be purchased on cards on my website

The packs however are not available  until end of May on line. All packs will be $9.00 and will have depending on the buttons between 12 to 15 buttons per pack.

 

All the buttons will be part of our scrapbooking range at The New York Stationery Show that will be from May 17th to the 20th. If you are going to be at the show please come see us at our TJOMIES booth.

 

Vintage bridal scrapbooking packs part 2

Today as part of my scrapbooking bridal theme I decided to make some flower cut outs using Tjomie Vintage stationery paper as a backgound and embellishing them with some vintage flatback swarovski crystal.

 

 

The paper is from the series of Hand embellished bridal cards that we do.

 

I love the way the crystal was packaged. It looks so neat and tidy in its little paper envelope and then when you open it up there amongst the layers of paper inside are the most precious sparkling crystals just waiting to be used..

 

Sort of like Aladdins cave ..would you not say?

I found a home for the flatbacks on each little flower cut out and packaged them for the New York show to have together with the rest of our scrapbooking kits.

This is our vintage bridal kit that I really love.

Authentic vintage scrapbooking kits part 1

 Now that the New York Stationery Show is just around the corner we (Tjomies vintage stationery) are working around the clock to get all our last minute items done. One of the areas we are working on are our vintage scrapbooking kits.

 

It is all very time consuming as each and every  bit of vintage ribbon,lace and trim is measured and cut to color coordinate with its Tjomie tag..

 

 

I know it takes forever but as you can see each item is wrapped and placed with 100% VINTAGE LOVE

 

These will all go with our hand embellished cards that can be found on our Tjomies website

I really love the colors in this one. Have a look...

 

I adore the lace with the blue little flower running down the center...

 

We put in some little vintage glass buttons as well as vintage faux pearl beads from Occupied Japan.

The wonderful thing about the vintage scrapbook kits is that everything included is 100% authentic vintage product.

Tjomies vintage stationery

After  many countless hours of designing, regrouping, talking, laughing and countless cups of tea Warren and I have launched our Tjomies vintage stationery into cyberspace.. in other words we are live people and can be reached at www.tjomiesvintagestationery.com

Warren (my tjomie/ friend) actually built the website himself from scratch. It was an enormous task and one he took like a real gentleman never complaining and always ( seriously always) with a smile on his face. It is beyond my comprehension how anyone figures such things out - thank goodness one of us is technically savy (in this case savy is the understatement of the century for Warren after completing such a project )

Anyhow we will be at the New York Stationery show for our second year in May.

So in honor of our web launch I thought I would give you a little insight into the wonderful world of Tjomies vintage stationery.

Yes - its true it all started just like this...

 

When our business cards arrived earlier this month we knew we were well on our way ....

 

Our first range we did was the hand embellished series using all the vintage embellishments we have - this was the only range we showed last year at the New York Stationery Show and we had a great response .
