Over Christmas and New Year, I was fortunate enough to spend my time in the English countryside.
For those who have not been,my advice to you is to mark it in your diary as a must.
If you have a love for vintage or an appreciation for anything old, than this surely is the destination for you.
Muddy country paths leading to beautiful stone structures, the greenest grass one shall ever see and skies that are so dramatic one is instantly moved.

Being in Alton, I stayed with a friend who has the loveliest home. Warm and breathing as if the walls have a life of their own reflecting the very essence and warmth of the owner.
Every nook and cranny has something that inspires you, something that forces you stop and look.
From the spices in the pantry all lined up in old Marmite jars to the stones placed next to the outside drain, to the back of the doors covered in old black and white family pictures, to the bathroom that is designed around a hammered metal basin brought back from Morrocco... every surface, every corner is oozing with creativity.
A real piece of eye candy and the absolute right surroundings to bring any form of creativity to the front of ones mind.
Creative or not, it would be impossible not to be inspired.

There is beauty to be found even in the old pots outside the barn.. Does it not look like a beautiful still life?

The fresh Jasmine hangs inside the conservatory bringing in all the elements of the outside in...

and not to forget all the lovely lavender growing wildly..
