Well, I am off the the Chantilly Scrapbooking show to set up our booth.
The show is from June 26th to June 27th. For all you scrapbooking friends out there if you are in the area do come and introduce yourselves to us at TJOMIES. I will be back with loads of pictures next week so check in with me then xxx
To add to our collection of tags we ( Tjomies) have come up with many gift tags that are all vintage inpired. Like the polka dot tags, here are another range that are taken from Vintage European Jaquard trim.
I absolutely adore roses on most fabrics so just could not resist using this particular trim as inpiration.
Just love the way the tags came out.. we did them in three different tones to match the different color schemes of the jaquard..
We also made some scrapbooking borders to add to the Vintage Jaquard Rose collection ..love the way they came out too.
How stunning would these look on a scrapbooking page??
I am just simply dotty for anything with polka dots. In our collection of tags that we are making for our stationery company TJOMIES we have now completed a selection of polka dot themed tags and cut outs... just simply love em!! Take a look...

This is one color scheme I love - the baby yellow with lime green.

Yes, I am still unpacking and finding more incredible vintage cotton Swiss embroided hankies... these ones are really beautiful and just have a look at how colorful the covers are..

After blogging the last hankies I unpacked ( Hansel and Gretal) I decided to dig a bit deeper and found some unbelievable and ever so delicate Swiss vintage cotton hankies.
They came in envelopes with the loveliest paper covering the front.. have a look
I love the paper so much that I took close ups of each cover...
And, if you think the covers are pretty wait until you see what is inside each one....
Each folder comes with three of the most delicate sweet hankies with a hand embroided flower on each.
I just love the way the little label lies on its own bed of ribbon..

After living in Washington DC for the past eight years now I am proud to say some of our items were used on a bridal shoot and featured in a great new fashion supplement that is linked to The Washington Post called FW which stands for Fashion Washington.

Okay so I challenged myself and its now my last Starbucks revamp for the week. I could go on and on finding new backdrops for the Queen of coffee but have so many new things to blog.. so on that note here is the last image I will have of the mermaid for a while... nestled on a vintage millinery flower.
and then made into a flower brooch..
I am coming to the end of my personal Starbucks challenge to myself of finding new settings for the little Starbucks mermaid... this time I decided to should surround herself with other pretties ..
Yup she is now one of the official members of a band that was hand embellished using our vintage buttons on a hat made by my dear friend Albertus Swanepoel....
Yes, I am still on my Starbucks idea week - day four!
Today I decided to give the Coffee Queen of the Seas another function... firstly I took her and glued her on to some of our Tjomies vintage stationery Paisley print as a back drop.
After this I then took some really pretty vintage lingerie lace in a apple green and glued it making a skirt around the cutout circle.
I then found some vintage celluloid buttons in my stash and framed the mermaid .
I then cut around the brooch once it had all dried and stuck a pin on the back.
I may even take it to my local Starbucks up the road and hand it over to my favorite barista as a gift !!!!!
Well we are now into our day 4 of keeping up with our obsession of the Starbucks mermaid logo !!
My partner in TJOMIES Stationery Warren who is the king of all doodles decided to join in the fun and this is what he came up with....
I think he is a bloody king at the way he doodled sweet Miss Sea Queen of Starbucks... don't you?

Well, I am now on my third day of my Starbucks challenge to myself of creating new backrounds for the mermaid.
Today I took a plain white tag and together with the logo that I had previously cut out in a flower shape got to work..
If you follow this blog you will know by now that I love drawing leaves!!!! Why ? I dont know I just do!! So , I decided to surround the cut out with leave forms.
Amazing what some color does ....
Add some vintage polka dot trim.....
It all comes together .....

If you read my blog yesterday you will see that A - I have either gone totally mad or B I am just another artist that is inpired by objects surrounding me , motivating me to create!! ( I personally think it is A!)
Yes, I am still on my strive to give the friendly Starbucks mermaid a new place to call home. Today I made a tag using her image..check it out.
Firstly I decided to cut her out using a flower cut out
And then together with one of our Tjomies paisley gift tags the two did meet!!!!
It is amazing what a vintage buttons does to embellish most things..
Change the color of the button and add some vintage trim and voila...
More Starbucks tomorrow .. I am having so much fun that I have decided to dedicate the blog to Starbucks this week. If any of you have any ideas let me know.
I have been extra busy with all my cut outs for the upcoming Scrapbooking show we are doing at the end of the month.. obviously it has gone to my head as I am sure you will agree with me after reading this post ( or maybe not - maybe I have just come up with a new look for Starbucks)
I was sitting minding my own business sipping on my starbucks when I sat back and had a look at the coffee cup. You know how there are some things you see all the time but never really look at . The Starbucks logo is one of those things. I found myself really liking the mermaid figure!
I decided to add a bit of spark to her sea crown ...
and to soften the green surrounding her by using some of my cut outs ( what else!!)
With summer coming up she needs some summery pastel color to surround her.
My own little personal homage to the Sea Queen of Starbucks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have often blogged about my friend Albertus Swanepoel - the milliner.
I wanted to share a hat he made for my shop using some of our vintage belt buckles. I am sure you will agree with me his talent is beyond words.
Even the back of the hat is done so beautifully ( all by hand)

As you know I sometimes come across a box that has been lying deep in our storage that has not been opened yet and find something really interesting to blog about. Well this morning, I came across this absolutely adorable vintage hanky box .. take a look.
Remember the story of Hansel and Gretal, the witch and the gingerbread house???
.. if so you are going to love this.
The box was made in Switzerland in the 1930's.
What I love about this cute box is how they have cut out windows for Hansel and Gretal

and wait thats not all of it.... when you open up the front lid of the box there waiting inside is another suprise...
A third hanky of the witch from the gingerbread house.
Each hanky has a little sewn border in a different color thread.
It really takes one back a few years - I for one haven't thought of Hansel and Gretal for a while and now can be reminded of the story each and every time there is a runny nose in the family!!!
